Artist Index & Video Vault

Artist Index & Video Vault

I've added an alphabetic artist index to the blog, allowing for easy browsing among the albums that I've uploaded. It can be found on the right hand side of the screen under the Navigation heading.

The Artist Index also features a growing number of links to Youtube videos of performances by traditional Irish musicians. I've tried to include only those videos which are of a high quality - both in terms of musicianship and sound reproduction - but the sound quality of a number of videos which have both musical and historical significance can be less than perfect.

Any suggestions regarding videos of traditional Irish musicians you think worthy of inclusion will be gratefully received...

There are loads of excellent videos at you tube, actually. I can come up with more of them in time.

    All the best!

  2. Oh, now that I figured out how to browse for the videos I see that you already made an extensive collection (and probably already had uploaded some of my suggestions). I guess I did not follow the "high quality" rule too...

It is alredy a very nice collection. So ,in fact, I could not suggest much more.

Maybe the Full-set programs at the RTÉ website with Paddy Glackin and Lyam O'Flynn, and the one with Matt Molloy and John Carty (those you can watch in a better quality than at youtube), would be nice additions

Here's the link for the first season (all of the programs of the first season are available for streaming, all very good in my opinion): http://www.rte.ie/tv/thefullset/series1.html

Hope I could help more efficiently now! ;)

    All the best,

    Tiago.

  3. Hello, I couldn't find another place to get in touch with you and I wasn't sure if these posts were supposed to relate to youtube videos. Anyways, I wanted to say thanks. This has been an amazing place to discover and I REALLY appreciate you doing this. This is music that I wasn't aware was in existence and I thought I had a fairly large collection of traditional Irish music already. Thanks!
