Pádraig O'Keeffe - The Sliabh Luachra Fiddle Master (RTÉ - CD174 - 1993)

A deleted recording of the Sliabh Luachra fiddle player and teacher taken from RTÉ archive recordings made by Séamus Ennis between 1947 and 1949. This is absolutely brilliant Sliabh Luachra music, and the final set of tunes - a duet with Denis Murphy - is a classic.

  2. Got this. But I still can't fathom why this 'core' stuff goes out of print. BTW thanks for the Julia Clifford video "O Rahilly's Grave" - I thought I'd never see this again.

  3. De rien, Christian.

Bernie - I'd love to see more of her, but it seems unlikely. The clip is from the latest 'Come West Along the Road' DVD, which is full of gems. It's well worth picking up.

  4. More great stuff! But track one has a bunch of skips starting at about 2:50 and lasting through 3:30 or so.

  5. Yeah, sorry about that. A friend gave me a ripped copy a few years ago, and the original was scratched. If I ever come across a better copy I'll re-rip it.
